Behavioral Leadership Course

Being an effective leader takes more than gut instinct or book learning. It takes a special combination of mental, emotional, and practical skills to generate real and lasting change.

The Behavioral Leadership course is made for leaders at all levels, from executives to supervisors. It’s perfect for anyone who leads a team or is an influencer in their organization.

Participants learn evidence-based behavior change strategies they can use at work and at home. Sample topics include self management, relationship management, performance management, and using those tactics to create a safe environment that brings out the best in people.

We discuss how to select behaviors and results to improve, how to agree on expectations, how to deliver and receive feedback, how to deliver reinforcement and create more reinforcing environments that actually work.

As part of the course, every participant completes an improvement project in which they make measurable improvements in the organization and present those improvements to the class at the end of the course.

Difficult Conversations Course

Most people find giving constructive feedback awkward and stressful. Yet it is a crucial part of a leader’s role!

The Difficult Conversations course is made for leaders at any level, to reduce tension and empower effective communication.

For example, employees typically prefer to receive feedback expressed in a compassionate way, and feedback delivered in the preferred manner is more likely to prompt improvement. Therefore the focus of this course is on helping people have more productive, less stressful, and more successful conversations with their peers and coworkers.

Participants come away with tactics and strategies that they can use to have more effective conversations at work and at home.

The course includes live practice of having difficult conversations, and debriefs about what went well and what could be improved. Participants learn helpful new strategies, modes of expression, and ways of framing the problem to encourage the desired response.
